Driverless Pods at Brockhole

Date: 1 Nov 2020 - 31 May 2021

Driverless Pods

The Driverless Pods will return after the Easter Holidays.

The Lake District National Park Authority is currently working with Westfield Technology Group to explore how Connected and Autonomous Vehicles could offer residents and visitors accessible and sustainable transport to reduce the need to drive and to cut carbon emissions.

We're pleased to be the test centre for such futuristic technology, with the aim of allowing customers to experience Brockhole in a new and exciting way. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, you may not be able to ride in the pod, but you will be able to see it in action and talk to the marshals about it every Wednesday to Sunday in Brockhole grounds.

This project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as a part of our Low Carbon Lake District programme.
