Join us for an open water swimming experience you'll never forget!

The UK’s biggest and best open water swim event, the Arla Great North Swim, returns to the beautiful setting of Brockhole on Windermere for a fantastic, family-friendly open water swimming adventure.

With distances ranging from 250 metres right up to a 10k there are options for all levels and abilities.

Enjoy the scenery, embrace the elements and soak up the experience this summer.

*The main Brockhole house will be closed this year to accommodate more people in the grounds*

With so much to do for the entire family and plenty of places to eat, why not make the most of seeing family and friends on the stunning shoreline of Windermere.

Check out our activities on offer, and feast your eyes on our delicious cafes. Please note Mini Golf is not available during the Great North Swim weekend.

This year we have various activities available over the Great North Swim weekend. These include, archery and axe throwing.

*Note parking between June 7 and June 9 is for pre-booked Great North Swim competitors only*

Event opening times

Friday 7th June: 10:30am-7:00pm

Saturday 8th June: 7:30am-5:00pm

Sunday 9th June: 7:00am-5:00pm

Food outlets

Open everyday, opening times vary

- Garden Shed - Hot & cold drinks, cakes & treats, English Lakes scooped ice cream

- BBQ - Amazing hamburgers, hotdogs & loaded fries

- Fish & Chip Van - Freshly prepared traditional fish & chips

- Beer tent - Local brewery supplied beers on tap along with other drinks and refreshments

External caterers 

- Fire & Dough - Freshly prepared pizzas

- Yardies - Jamaican Street Food

- Earth Worm Kitchen - "Free from" street food

Grounds

Access to the Lakeshore area will be closed.

House

Closed.

Activities 

Friday / Saturday / Sunday - Archery, axe throwing, laser tag are available. Boats/watersports CLOSED.

Brockhole has a great selection of food outlets to suit all tastes and budgets. All ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible, and skilfully prepared by our experienced team of chefs.
