Volunteering

Volunteers are involved in every aspect of work across the Lake District National Park. Whether repairing and maintaining uplands paths, conducting archaeological surveys, leading people around the fells on guided walks, supporting the team in our Head Office, meeting and greeting visitors at our centres or working on practical conservation tasks, volunteers make an invaluable contribution to help keep the Lake District special now and for future generations.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering in The Lake District National Park is an opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and make a real impact, all in one of the most amazing environments in the world.  But don't take our word for it. Listen to what Josh has to say in this video.
