11am-12pm: Rucksack of Rhymes
Join us for an hour of singing, stories and playtime for tiny tots. Explore a short poem by William Wordsworth through songs, rhymes and a story. The Rucksack of Rhymes contains toys, and other objects to handle and play with which relate to a poem about animals, plants or the weather. We will sing some songs and tell some stories for 30 minutes then have play time and a craft activities for another 30min. Activities for children age 0-5.
12.30-1pm: Explore the Lake District with Wordsworth
Explore the Lake District National Park through the beautiful words of William and Dorothy Wordsworth. In this thirty minute introductory talk, you will learn about this area as it was 200 years ago when the Wordsworths and their friends lived here and meet some of the characters who made it their home. The talk may inspire you to follow in the Wordsworths’ footsteps when you plan your next excursion or walk.
2-3pm: Family Fun with Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum
Explore the life and work of Poet William Wordsworth through object handling, craft activities and stories. Learn about the landscape and animals of the lake district and what life was like for people here 200 years ago in this fun, interactive workshop. Activities for children age 3+
