Child Bereavement UK are holding their annual Snowdrop Walk at Brockhole. It's a special day to remember the babies and children who have died and the children who are bereaved each year.
Please support Child Bereavement UK's Snowdrop Walk. It's a lovely way to shake off the cobwebs at this time of year and enjoy the fresh air. By planting a snowdrop in memory of a loved one, you will be helping Child Bereavement UK support bereaved families and children, helping them to rebuild their lives after the devastation of a child bereavement.- Alan Titchmarsh
FAMILIES are invited to enjoy a walk in the beautiful grounds of Brockhole in Windermere, plant snowdrops and then enjoy tea and cake afterwards.
The snowdrop walk is being held from 12pm to 3pm on Sunday, March 5. It is a special event to raise funds for Child Bereavement UK, a charity which supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.
Individual snowdrops will be on sale on the day and a book of remembrance donated by a bereaved family will also be available to sign.
Alan Titchmarsh, the charity’s patron, said: “The snowdrop walk is a special day to remember the babies and children who have died and the many children bereaved each year. It is an opportunity to admire the stunning Lake District in the winter months.”
There will also be a children’s treasure hunt where youngsters can explore Brockhole before receiving a fun-filled goody bag at the end, and refreshments will be available from the onsite café that has stunning views of Lake Windermere.
Entrance to the event is free. However donations for the snowdrops will be gratefully received.
