Mother's Day - it's a walk in the park at Brockhole
This Sunday, it’s one of our favourite days of the year. The perfect chance to celebrate with a certain special lady all the things that make us feel so lucky to have her as part of our everyday lives – it’s Mother’s Day of course!
Before we give you a whole list of fantastic ideas to make your day one to remember, let’s have a little look at some quirky facts about Mother’s Day that you might not know…
Flowers bought for Mother’s Day apparently see around 25% of all flower sales accounted for during the year – that’s a lot of flowers, the top selling flower of all is the carnation, with pink and red leading the way!
If you haven’t chosen the perfect Mother’s Day card yet, don’t worry there’s still time to pop to the shops, in the UK alone around thirty million cards are sent on Sunday. If you are looking for something a little bit different, why not get crafty and make your own?
Although a global celebration, Mother’s Day is not the same in every corner of the world. While the UK celebrates it in March, many other countries hold their celebrations in May while Yugoslavia mark the occasion in December! In total, 50 different countries celebrate the day.
