FAQs

Can I pay on the door?
Tickets can only be bought in advance for our events until 8 pm on the day.

When will my ticket arrive?
Your ticket will be emailed to you immediately on purchase. If you haven’t received your e-ticket within 2 hours of booking, please email hq@lakedistrict.gov.uk

Does the event depend on the weather?
Please assume that the film show will go ahead, come rain or shine, and come prepared for the weather. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the event because the weather poses a health and safety risk, we will post information on our websites and social media and notify ticket holders in advance by email. As this is an event to raise funds to help take care of the natural environment of the National Park, if we are forced to cancel the event due to unsafe weather, we will email you to ask whether you would like to donate your ticket fee to Nurture Lakeland and Fix the Fells or whether you would like a refund.

Can I bring food and drink?
You are welcome to bring your own food and drink and have a picnic in the grounds. We only ask that you clear up your rubbish and take it away with you. There will be a bar available on the terrace serving wine, Pimms, beer and non-alcoholic drinks all evening. The Brockhole on Windermere Café will only be available on the night for prebooked meals – which can be bought when you purchase your film ticket.

If I order a Brockhole Picnic what does it include and where do I collect it from?

The Brockhole picnic includes a gourmet sandwich, hand raised pork pie, vegetable crisps, couscous or green salad, punnet of strawberries and cream.  Vegetarian and gluten free options are available on request on booking. Please collect your picnic from the Café when you arrive.

I would like to book a table in the Brockhole Café for a pre performance evening meal, what is the 2 course set menu?

Can I bring my own seating and wind break?

Please do bring a low backed picnic chair or blanket to sit on. You’re not permitted to bring pop up tents or other structures or wind breakers as these will obscure the view for other film goers.

Where do I park and how much is it?

Brockhole on Windermere will be operating a pay and display car park.  For the evening of the performance the charge is £3.00 per car.  Please pay and display on arrival.  All income from the car park goes towards the upkeep and protection of the Lake District National Park.

Can I smoke?
If you need to smoke, please do so at the back or sides of the audience.

Will there be toilets?
Yes, there are accessible toilets for visitors to use free of charge.

Are children allowed?
Children are permitted - the film is appropriate for family viewing. All tickets are the same price.

What happens if I forget my ticket?
Please bring a printed copy of your e-ticket, or save it on your smart phone. If you forget your ticket we will ask you for photo identification so that we can identify you with the ticket data.

Can I get a refund on my ticket?
If you can’t attend the event you can give your ticket to someone else. We cannot offer refunds under these circumstances.

I’m deaf or hard of hearing, will there be subtitles?
Unfortunately the film is not subtitled. Many apologies for the inconvenience this may cause you.

Will there be wheelchair access?
There are wheelchair accessible paths between the car park and the outdoor screening area. It is a large grassy area. If the weather has been wet, the grass may be a bit muddy. Volunteers will be on hand to help ensure the wheelchairs can get on and off the grass.

Can I bring a dog?
Dogs are welcome. Please do make sure that your dog does not disturb picnickers. Keep it on a lead and ensure that you clear up any dog mess.

What else do you recommend I bring with me?

Please bring a torch to help guide you to the toilets, car park and terrace café after dark.  Please bring suitable outdoors, warm clothing as evenings by the lake can be chilly.
